What is the Māori and Indigenous Business programme?

The programme will give you insight into business theory and practice appropriate for Māori and Indigenous contexts. The programme is underpinned by cultural values that emphasise ethical and sustainable business practice. In the programme, you’ll conduct independent research, seek innovative solutions, develop executable business strategies; and develop critical analysis skills using culturally appropriate methods, theories and technologies.

What are the career opportunities?

The qualifications, as described, are intended to assist with career advancement for candidates who are already in established management and/or leadership positions. You’ll have the opportunity to be at the forefront of Māori and Indigenous-led enterprise, governance and management. You’ll gain theoretical and practical knowledge equipping you to hold positions of significant responsibility within business in Māori and Indigenous contexts.

What qualification will I leave with?

You will gain a Master of Māori and Indigenous Business (MMAIBus).*

*If you do not meet the requirements for continuation or choose to exit the programme before completing the Masters degree, you may be able to leave with a Postgraduate Certificate in Māori and Indigenous Business (PGCertMAIBus) after completing 60 points or a Postgraduate Diploma in Māori and Indigenous Business (PGDipMAIBus) after completing 120 points.
